South is Dixie (Dixon derivative). 12:36:53 From Robert Turner : "Command" is "CTL" in Windows. 12:37:16 From Robert Turner : (Control) 12:37:17 From art2ro : Beautiful, great job, commands!! 12:37:26 From Ray Toler : There should have been a trigger warning on this webinar. I’m having very strong urges to create a spreadsheet… 12:37:33 From Glenn Workman : File is now also posted here: https://www.freqsound.com/motuuserfiles/ 12:37:37 From Adam Goldman : Breathe, Ray 12:38:06 From Adam Goldman : Named for Messrs Mason & Dixon 12:38:07 From Eric Brown : Actually No. It was due to the cost to get into the dance halls at the time in Nw Orleans, which was $.10. Ten in French is Dix, hence Dixieland! 12:38:27 From Ray Toler : Tabular format, alphabet and numbers, modifier combos… it’s already color coded and beautiful in my head. 12:38:41 From Zab Skornik : Awesome Thanks a m 12:38:50 From Adam Goldman : Ray, isn’t that in Omnisphere? 12:38:51 From Zab Skornik : for this recap 12:39:02 From kennethpage : Never heard that Eric. I’ll have to check that ut. 12:39:03 From Glenn Workman : Zab: Common and most used commands. 12:39:09 From kennethpage : out 12:39:17 From Ray Toler : They weirdly omitted that table for Digital Performer, Adam. 12:39:22 From chris : This is awesome just what I needed! 12:39:31 From Zab Skornik : I know but so nice to see them all out of my printer 12:39:32 From Adam Goldman : Ray: how conVENient 12:39:40 From Ray Toler : I need a Shift-Coma command... 12:39:58 From gReg Silvus : Shift-“Coma” is pretty funnt 12:40:03 From gReg Silvus : *funny 12:40:57 From Ray Toler : Shift-Coma - for your next 27 minute ambient-chill track. 12:41:38 From Caxa : @Ray Specially for you!!! I was thinking about you earlier - a couple of outlets are advertising iZotope Iris 2 for free today. I didn’t investigate whether or not they’re legit as I already have it. 12:43:20 From Dave Hayward : No I’m keeping it…. 12:43:20 From Caxa : @Ray I already have it thanks… 12:43:33 From Adam Goldman : Dave, I can respect that. 12:43:45 From Mike Loudermilk : Is there a command to print the lyric page? 12:43:45 From Jay Farber : Anybody like any of the AIR Music Plugins? 12:43:51 From Glenn Workman : Right-click or Control-click on Mac 12:44:11 From Caxa : @Jay I like Loom 2 for Additive stuff… 12:44:14 From Glenn Workman : Jay: I have the couple that came years ago with PT. Velvet was quite nice. 12:44:48 From Steve Sklar : Jay: Hybrid is cool, and now works with Catalina. 12:45:03 From Glenn Workman : Short video on creating Key Bindings: https://www.freqsound.com/motuuserfiles/TrainingVideos/CustomKeyBindings.m4v 12:45:05 From Mike Loudermilk : Doesn’t print the lyric page 12:45:17 From kennethpage : Thans Flenn 12:45:21 From kennethpage : Glenn 12:45:32 From Ray Toler : Jay, I have Hybrid and it’s nice enough, but didn’t really do anything for me. I may need to revisit it, but normally end up in other VSTs. 12:45:37 From paul : is iris2 worth getting? I never felt like it was anything I “had” to have, even though it has been available for $10 or less. 12:45:39 From Jay Farber : Super cheap on Pluginboutique at the moment 12:46:39 From Ray Toler : Paul, Iris2 can create some really interesting sounds. Not a bread-and-butter synth by any measure. If you can get it for < $20, I’d say it’s worth having in the stable. 12:46:56 From Caxa : @Jay Keep an eye out - they often give away Hybrid free… 12:47:07 From Benoit Widemann : Iris 2 is very interesting, but to me it has been kind of blown away by Falcon. Worth having, certainly. 12:47:13 From Glenn Workman : Kapture! 12:47:14 From Ray Toler : Take RX’s spectral selection and make that your oscillator… 12:47:14 From Jay Farber : thanks 12:47:32 From Ray Toler : Falcon is on my watch list for Black Friday. 12:47:41 From Rich : KEEP!! 12:47:46 From Benoit Widemann : Falcon is VERY cool 12:48:02 From kennethpage : Falcon Yes 12:48:11 From kennethpage : Love it 12:48:15 From paul : I do use both Falcon and Omnisphere. I know it is different, but I feel like it is something I would use for one sound rather than an entire song. 12:48:18 From Benoit Widemann : Arturia’s Pigments is also very likable 12:48:31 From paul : “it” = iris2 12:48:39 From Benoit Widemann : Modulations UX is very intuitive in Pigments 12:48:43 From kennethpage : Pigment & Omnisphere Excellent 12:48:48 From Kidd Funk : Slick Trick! 12:48:58 From Ray Toler : Yeah, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with Pigments. On first blush I didn’t get warm fuzzies, but I’ve used it way more than I expected. Omnisphere remains my default go-to... 12:49:27 From Caxa : My Black Friday list is simple - NI Cremona Quartet…. But I doubt it will be reduced…. 12:49:28 From kennethpage : Me too Ray along with Falcon 12:50:09 From Roque Baños : Hi Adams, does retrospective record apply to audio recording as well? 12:50:22 From Roque Baños : Or only midi? 12:50:41 From Glenn Workman : Roque’: No. But you can specify an amount to keep before you hit record and after you hit stop for audio. 12:50:55 From Roque Baños : Thank you! 12:51:06 From Mike Loudermilk : Thanks Adam and Matt! 12:51:59 From Roque Baños : Oh great! Thanks Glenn. What about if you forgot to press record and the musician played a great take? 12:52:00 From Edward Auslender / L.A. Music Lab : Another useful Lyric function would be auto hyphen words 12:52:36 From Benoit Widemann : option-R: try that in Logic :) The most absurdly hidden command 12:53:22 From Benoit Widemann : DP is so simple… 12:53:47 From Glenn Workman : Roque: No, it wouldn’t have started creating an audio file unless you click the Transport record first. 12:54:23 From Glenn Workman : Command/Control are reversed for Mac/PC 12:54:59 From john mazzei : Can we have a refresher link to those custom searches? 12:55:34 From Ray Toler : That’s HUGE! I’ve been doing the slow “right-click on every folder” method!!! 12:55:57 From Ray Toler : That’s my golden nugget for today! 12:56:06 From Glenn Workman : john m: There is info on that in the motuuserfiles document here, and Matt’s custom searches are in main folder as well: https://www.freqsound.com/motuuserfiles/MOTUWebinarExtras.pdf 12:56:20 From Glenn Workman : https://www.freqsound.com/motuuserfiles/MattsSearchSettingsv2.zip 12:56:25 From 485055 : Tell Matt to do another hour on this! This is the bomb man 12:56:42 From Ray Toler : I have Ctrl-H mapped to “Create Hit Record.” I haven’t gotten it to work yet, though. 12:56:47 From john mazzei : Thanks Glenn! 12:56:48 From rpedraza : The trick is remembering one when you need it 12:56:51 From Adam Goldman : Ray!! 12:57:16 From Jefferson Jarvis : Control+Command+D is supposed to “Duplicate Track” in Dp 10.13, but it doesn’t do anything. Is this the case for everyone else? 12:57:51 From 485055 : Yeah that one is messed up 12:58:11 From chris : Yeah same for me I thought there was a command conflict with another app but I can’t find it 12:58:25 From Caxa : @Jefferson - funny you should mention that for me it sometimes works - sometimes doesn’t… 12:58:57 From Jefferson Jarvis : Yes, I looked for a conflict with a Mac OS shortcut, but I couldn’t find one 12:59:02 From Glenn Workman : Jefferson: Broke here too - or assigned to an additional function. I’ve added another key to that function. 12:59:49 From Glenn Workman : E for extra! 12:59:55 From kennethpage : Adam!!!!!! 13:00:54 From Jefferson Jarvis : Wow, instant DP webinar gratification! 13:01:02 From Mark Rasmussen : Just arrived, did we get a download for printing these shortcuts 13:01:10 From Benoit Widemann : Gotta run. Have a good vote. :) 13:01:20 From kennethpage : Bye B 13:01:23 From Neil McCarroll : Bye Benoit 13:01:24 From John Flaherty : Thanks, Benoit. We’ll do our best. 13:01:28 From Adam Goldman : Bye Benoit! 13:01:32 From farber : Be safe 13:01:32 From chris : Mark - Glenn has it on the site 13:01:35 From Ken Thies : Hmm. Re the ctl-cmd-d, I wonder if max osx does not recognise the cmd as part of the sequence, and therefore sees only ctl-D, which in Unix is a end-of-file signal. 13:01:40 From Mark Rasmussen : Chris: Thanks 13:01:49 From Victor LeComer : Roque - Missed perfect take sometimes means you’re fired! :) 13:01:53 From Jefferson Jarvis : Mark: 13:02:04 From Ray Toler : Ctrl-Cmd-D in Mac OS is connected to “define” in a document. Might be that it’s overriding DP because we’re technically working in a document. Haven’t found a way to override it in my quick google searches, though. 13:02:10 From Adam Goldman : Just looked through Shortcuts on MacOS….no visible use of Cmd Cntrl D 13:02:17 From Jefferson Jarvis : Mark:https://www.dropbox.com/s/rwuc727931hw1ye/DP%20Commands%20Part%201.pdf.zip?dl=0 13:02:29 From Glenn Workman : Mark Rasmussen: https://www.freqsound.com/motuuserfiles/DP%20Commands%20Part%201.pdf.zip 13:02:55 From Mark Rasmussen : Thanks so Much guys 13:03:01 From Sean Martin : Happy birthday Adam. It may not be worth the effort, but here you go: https://blog.atj.me/2019/02/selectively-override-keyboard-shortcuts-in-macos/ 13:05:31 From Rich : Do you have to use modifier keys, or can you use single letters (C, V, J) etc…..?? 13:05:32 From Mark Rasmussen : Hey John, Did you request one of the social platforms request? my email is r a z k e y s @ G M A I L 13:05:46 From What ? : speaking of MIDI. is it possible to record cursor automation on plug-ins? 13:05:52 From Glenn Workman : Rich: You an use single letters. 13:05:56 From John Flaherty : Yes, Mark. Thanks. 13:05:57 From Adam Goldman : Rich, yes, single letters are ok. 13:05:58 From Glenn Workman : Most are already assigned. 13:05:59 From Adam Goldman : what Glenn said 13:06:29 From Glenn Workman : I use M for Marker, Z and X for zoom in/out etc. 13:06:31 From Adam Goldman : What?: Yes, if you mean possible to automate plug-in parameters 13:07:07 From Rich : Cool…so if I’m typing track names, weird things won’t happen!! 13:07:16 From Glenn Workman : What? Yes, with the transport in play and automation armed, motions with the mouse on controls including plug-ins is recorded. 13:07:23 From John Flaherty : I wanna set V to Vulcan Mind Meld, where you can tap directly into Matt’s brain when you get stuck. 13:07:24 From Ray Toler : If he has time for unrelated questions, I have two about movie stuff. 13:07:31 From PABLO : This is fantastic, thanks Matt! 13:07:33 From John Flaherty : DON’T FORGET TO VOTE! And stay safe out there. There’re gonna be crazy people out there today. 13:07:34 From David Gottshalk : When I have both the tracks and the meter bridge window open - Is there a command that locks the meter bridge track levels in line with the track levels eg I want the bass meter level to lock in line with my bass track level? 13:07:38 From Roque Baños : Hi Adam and everybody before we finish, I just wanted to mention, this weekend it was released 2 movies that I scored . One in Theaters “Come Play” #1 BO on the weekend, and the other “His House” in Netflix, having great success. 13:07:40 From Peter Buchta : Thanks 13:07:40 From Jay Farber : Happy Bday Adam 13:07:53 From Adam Goldman : Congrats, Roque! 13:07:56 From Scott Dorton : Ditto, Adam 13:08:01 From Adam Goldman : Thanks, Jay, Scott, and everyone! 13:08:04 From Mark Rasmussen : Happy 29th Adam 13:08:08 From Roque Baños : Would be great to have some feedback from my clleges 13:08:08 From Glenn Workman : Roque: Congratulations. Does VEP eliminate the PreGen beachball delay? After a certain number of things in a v-rack, it’s become as much as 10-15 seconds or more. 2. Is there a way to import movie audio for only a specified time range? OR will multi-bounce auto-include movie audio if routed through an aux? I’ve been manually recording the movie audio in ranges, but would love a faster workflow. 13:16:00 From Mitch Chakour : Thanks so much for the Chunk question I will try that. Love it so much 13:16:06 From Glenn Workman : Vote document if you want to vote later (please only vote once). You an email me glenn@freqsound.com https://www.freqsound.com/motuuserfiles/DP%20Vote!.pdf.zip 13:16:16 From David Gottshalk : Once you have created your own commands how do you save them so that if something goes wrong you can recover them? 13:16:32 From 485055 : 1-A 2-midi velocity compression 13:16:45 From Glenn Workman : David: Yes. Music Lab : Yes Rubens, that would be a good idea 13:18:42 From 485055 : Re 5.1 Use name mangler to rename the files. I did it a long time ago but it was a pain. 13:18:44 From Tim Valkenburg : 1D but wish most recent takes were uppermost, and 2F …. would love to get a sidechain input ( : 13:19:04 From Michel Gauvin : Thanks I'll do 13:19:14 From David Gottshalk : I’m mixing a song at the moment - Which is a good Motu EQ you would recommend and why 13:19:19 From John Flaherty : 485055 -isn’t that the password for this webinar? 13:19:52 From Ray Toler : No, I’m not using VEP yet. 13:19:54 From Glenn Workman : David: The MW EQ. Turn on the FFT button and you can see what frequencies are present before you adjust. 7 bands to play with. 13:20:21 From Caxa : Q - what does “Set VCA volume color” actually do? 13:20:30 From David Gottshalk : Brilliant! Not themes, but the actual color stuff. Can those be exported or sent to other people if we create custom colors? 13:23:11 From Ray Toler : “DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME” is a pretty good summary for most of my life. 13:23:13 From Glenn Workman : Ray: Some of the beta guys have gotten heavy into creating custom themes. I can try to look for the threads and post it to you. 13:23:35 From Ray Toler : Glenn, not the custom themes, just the track color palettes. 13:23:54 From Glenn Workman : Ray: OK.
