12:36:13 From James Paschall : Sets = Chunks. Glenn? 12:37:24 From Glenn Workman : Setlist = Chunks Window in DP. 12:37:39 From James Paschall : Tx. 12:37:42 From Glenn Workman : Its a little icon in the top right 12:38:04 From James Paschall : Got it! 12:39:34 From Jashandeep Singh Reehal : I had a little question. I have all my sounds and sound effects in the E:/ drive of my pc. when I click add place in lite and ass the E drive, I get nothing but empty. I have to add the different folders in the drive each one by one. can't I add the whole drive in the locations? to browse my sounds? 12:40:16 From Glenn Workman : Jash: What Windows OS are you on? 12:40:33 From Jashandeep Singh Reehal : windows 10 64 bit 12:41:18 From Jashandeep Singh Reehal : it is very old machine though. having lits of other problems with lite in my PC, like I am unable to export my score xml file. my computer doesn't allow that. 12:42:17 From Steve Sklar : Where is Percussion Scene? 12:42:22 From Glenn Workman : Jash: I just tried it on a Mac. I had the + sign in the Places area of the Content Browser. I put EVERYTHING from that drive, folders and individual files, into the list. Not sure if Windows is different, I’m very Mac-centric. 12:42:39 From Glenn Workman : Steve: These are on the Workstation. 12:42:49 From Glenn Workman : VI 12:43:22 From Jashandeep Singh Reehal : I had to add individual folders from my drive. if I add my drive, it doesn't show anything. 12:43:55 From Glenn Workman : Jash: Maybe try putting the items you want (including other folders/directories) into a single folder and see if that works. Just a guess. 12:44:11 From Jashandeep Singh Reehal : yes. that worked 12:44:32 From Jashandeep Singh Reehal : I just wanted to know if I can't add a drive. thanks 12:44:33 From Glenn Workman : Maybe it doesn’t like seeing the hidden files etc. at the root level. 12:45:14 From Jashandeep Singh Reehal : yes. that could be it. in my pc, lite runs only in administrator mode. that leads to a lot of other permission errors 12:46:52 From Glenn Workman : I just listened to the entire album “Songs In The Key Of Life” by Stevie Wonder yesterday. Quite a treat still after 45 or so years. 12:47:17 From Eric Witt : Why did Matt pur 2 midi channels with the Percussion loop? 12:47:19 From Mark Rasmussen : :) Summer Soft 12:48:07 From Glenn Workman : Eric: He can control volume separately (and pan, effects, etc.) if they are on separate MIDI channels. 12:48:45 From Eric Witt : Thanks Glenn. Am still a bit confused. Can’t he do all that on the same channel? 12:49:00 From Glenn Workman : Mark: The falsetto vocal start (pretty sure it was that one) and the extended outros for so many of the tunes are just engrossing. 12:49:15 From Glenn Workman : Eric: No, MIDI volume would affect everything on that same channel. 12:49:36 From Mark Rasmussen : Glenn: Yes 12:49:57 From Eric Witt : Really sorry, it is probably me but I am stil confused. 12:51:21 From Glenn Workman : Eric: Even if MIDI data is on separate tracks, and show up with separate volume sliders on the mixing board, one will override the other. That’s a reality of MIDI. If he turned them into audio (Bounce or Freeze the audio for each track) then you’d have individual control. You wouldn’t have the constraints of MIDI. 12:52:46 From Eric Witt : I guess I might understand better if it is shown on Performer. 12:53:04 From Eric Witt : Glenn 12:53:21 From Eric Witt : But thanks a lot for trying. 12:53:30 From Glenn Workman : The shading near the end of the each note rectangle shows relative velocity. 12:54:14 From Glenn Workman : If you hold the “v” key (default) you can click-drag on a note to adjust its velocity. 12:56:08 From Glenn Workman : You need to be in Notes view in Sequence window, or you can do the same if you are in the Clips editor. 13:00:23 From Glenn Workman : Velocity can also affect tone - not always just volume. 13:01:25 From Glenn Workman : Eric: I’ll get your question to Matt the next opening. 13:06:39 From Glenn Workman : Each track has a popup menu that currently says Clips - can also be set to Notes if you want to see the MIDI data as individually editable notes. 13:08:55 From Glenn Workman : I’ve got to head out to teach a class.
