14:51:07 From jraoul : Following up on the question I posted towards the end of Matt’s session: I do not see a way to enable Beats in the Waveform or Sequence windows 14:52:54 From Dave Hayward : jroule: I have been meaning to ask the same question about dragging beats in Sequence. 14:59:20 From Peter Giacomini : The latest MOTU audio driver (not Pro Audio driver) supports 828 mkII and includes Cuemix. I just used it to setup my 828 mkII to connect to my 828es using ADAT digital link. I can’t turn on my mic since it is noisy where I am. 14:59:40 From Ken Thies : Peter, thank you! :-) 15:02:47 From Glenn Workman : I can unmute every/anybody. Just let me know here. 15:03:04 From Glenn Workman : If you mute yourself for any reason, you’ll just have to ask again. 15:04:21 From Dave Hayward : I’m now unmuted as asked.. but it’s noisy here so if you hear dogs and kids let me know.. 15:04:57 From Peter Giacomini : thanks Glenn, I was originally muted when I joined because I am outside and there was a lot of noise (which has since gone away) :-). 15:17:34 From Glenn Workman : If anyone wants to be unmuted just ask. 15:17:47 From Glenn Workman : Sometimes when you join it mutes you by default. 15:20:44 From Peter Giacomini : Glenn, I had to mute due to noise again, but you can turn off the automatic addition of the inserts. I think it is in the mini-menu. 15:21:00 From Glenn Workman : Peter: That’s correct. 15:25:19 From Peter Giacomini : Glenn, thanks for hosting these after webinar discussions. I have a call in 5 minutes, so I have to leave. 15:40:28 From paul : Glenn, sorry for the multiple join/rejoin, bad internet connection 15:41:00 From Glenn Workman : No problem 15:41:10 From Ken Thies : Transposing MIDI changes the note that is sent to the synth/sampler. 15:42:52 From Ken Thies : Great after party, but I have to go. See everyone Tuesday! 15:42:59 From Glenn Workman : Take care Ken. 15:43:51 From Björn Lindén : It’s getting late. Got to go. Take care. 15:45:06 From Glenn Workman : Take care Bjorn 15:46:36 From Jay Farber : I have an appointment to get to thanks everybody and have a good weekend. 15:47:19 From Glenn Workman : Jay take care. 15:47:31 From Jose Gonzalez Palma : Take care Jay 15:48:13 From mike hlady : Hi Glenn, have you gotten older motu legacy interfaces to work in mac OS Catalina? and if so how did you get it to work? 15:51:26 From Glenn Workman : mike: I just upgraded my MacBook Pro to Catalina this past month and haven’t tried yet. 15:52:01 From Bonnie Janofsky : What time is the Monday group and where? 15:52:33 From mike hlady : gotcha. I just did the same. Been having trouble getting it to recognize my 896HD 15:52:39 From Glenn Workman : https://motu.com/en-us/performer-lite-webinars/ 15:53:06 From Bonnie Janofsky : Actually if it’s Performer Lite, may not be for me but I’ll check it out. 15:53:45 From Glenn Workman : Bonnie: That link is for Performer Lite 15:54:56 From Glenn Workman : http://www.motunation.com/forum/index.php 15:56:00 From Bonnie Janofsky : Sorry, took a call and didn’t realize you were talking about Lite. 15:56:35 From Bonnie Janofsky : Mondays at that time is the CBC Malibu with Richard Gibbs - Composers Breakfast Club! 15:56:59 From Ray Toler : I’ll have to look that up, Bonnie - sounds fun. 15:57:11 From Bonnie Janofsky : I’ve got another meeting to go to. I use DP10 but mostly I’m a super power user of Finale! 15:57:29 From Neil McCarroll : bye Bonnie 15:57:40 From Bonnie Janofsky : Thanks!!! 16:00:55 From Dave Hayward : Gotta go guys.. I’ll be back. 16:01:07 From Adam Goldman : bye Dave 16:01:08 From Adam Goldman : ! 16:03:26 From paul : RE new tech… the Roli keyboard is not exactly “completely new”, but it is a pretty cool update to standard MIDI. But it does not seem to be all that widespread. 16:04:13 From Ray Toler : Agreed, Paul - I really wanted to love the Roli but couldn’t get over the texture of the material. But having a multi-dimensional control surface opens up so many possibilities! 16:05:26 From Glenn Workman : paul: At least a few on the webinars own a Roli. Interesting. 16:05:28 From Adam Goldman : Paul I have a seaboard….thing’s awesome 16:06:50 From paul : never used one myself (and they are expensive), but it seems to me like essentially being a new type instrument 16:07:21 From Adam Goldman : it is, but it’s kinda a specialist device…have to play it specifically in its own way 16:08:42 From paul : Though I did notice it made an appearance in LaLaLand when Ryan Gosling is shown playing a live show. I assume that was intentional, but it was very brief. 16:09:08 From Adam Goldman : probably for the visual ‘wow’ effect 16:09:39 From Neil McCarroll : I borrowed a Seaboard for about a year and regretfully I was too busy to really use it :( 16:09:40 From Adam Goldman : the Butabi brothers 16:10:21 From Adam Goldman : I appreciate that the Seaboard can be adjusted to be strict pitches, or to be ‘freeform’ re pitch 16:11:06 From paul : If you didn’t know what it is, you would not be able tell it was anything other than a normal keyboard, but I remember spotting it and being excited for maybe the one other person who may have notice it in the movie 16:12:30 From Ray Toler : I love those moments, Paul… “DID YOU SEE THAT? IT WAS A FURBY!!!” 16:13:10 From Jose Gonzalez Palma : Gotta head out, Thanks for doing this Adam and Glenn these are great. I’ll bring Catwiches next time 16:14:05 From Adam Goldman : Bye Jose! 16:14:05 From Ray Toler : Bye, Jose! 16:14:26 From Neil McCarroll : bye Jose 16:16:05 From paul : Ray: Agreed. I also thought it was funny because, at the same time, I was thinking “but how many people would actually even know what that is?” As if they put it in there just on a whim. 16:23:21 From paul : Bradley: the best workaround may be just to have two instances of the plugin with different settings, and then automate bypass/enable to switch between them. I think it depends on DP but also the plug software: even in plugins where many parameters are fully customizable/learnable, still not every parameter can be learned or automated. 16:24:28 From paul : May also depend on how popular/developed the software is. E.g. Falcon is very heavily customizable, but there are still instances where some functions (for whatever reason) can not be learned/automated. 16:26:26 From Bradley DePasse : Paul: I am going to try that 16:27:24 From Glenn Workman : glenn@freqsound.com 16:27:39 From paul : thanks 16:27:42 From James Paschall : Thanks, Glenn, Adam. et al. Have a great weekend
