Project/Conductor Track/Adjust Beats… 12:41:39 From larry groupe : So….UVI acts like VE Pro…yes? 12:42:28 From Glenn Workman : larry: UVI is a sample engine. Similar to VEP in that you load sample banks, and they play as virtual instruments. 12:43:09 From larry groupe : Glenn….thank you. I have tis on a MacMini in my satellite studio so myself or assistant can create click tracks. I always write my film music without click, then painstakingly go back when dine and use adjust beats to tempo Map the cue. 12:44:58 From larry groupe : UVI, got it, thanks. 12:52:29 From Glenn Workman : For anyone who joined after Matt started: I can try to help answer questions in this Chat window if needed during Matt’s presentation. At the end of the webinar if you want to ask questions you can open the Participants panel and click the Raise Hand button. 12:59:42 From Glenn Workman : The volume control in the Channel Strip, is also horizontal near the top of the editing window. 13:00:06 From Glenn Workman : The panning knob and meter for the current selected track is also there. 13:02:44 From Glenn Workman : Option-spacebar will solo and play anything you have selected, in case you want to audition it before making and edit or copy. 13:05:59 From Glenn Workman : If you double-click in the fade area, it will bring up the Fade window where you can change the fade curve by dragging a diagonal line - linear, exponential etc. Also works with crossfades across 2 wave files. 13:09:58 From Zeke : Maybe turn down the piano during playback 13:11:35 From Eric Brown : Glenn, how do I rescan my plugin folder? 13:14:24 From Glenn Workman : Eric: In the Performer Lite menu/Preferences - select Audio Plus-ins in the sidebar. Highlight plug-ins and click Reexamine. 13:15:58 From Glenn Workman : There are additional input responses that were mentioned in an earlier Digital Performer webinar. The links to those files and the instructions on how to add them to Proverb are online here: https://www.freqsound.com/motuuserfiles/MOTUWebinarExtras.pdf 13:16:14 From Eric Brown : Actually I was asking for DP10, but I found it. Just picked up the demo of the Neural DSP Abasi plugin for guitar. It is MONSTEROUS! 13:18:43 From Glenn Workman : Eric: It is the same for DP. If you want to force a rescan you can do this:(a) Quit Digital Performer. (b) In Finder, click on the Go menu, hold down the [Alt/Option] key and click on Library. (c) Go to Preferences > com.motu.MotuAudioSystem. In this folder, drag Audio Unit Info Cache to your desktop. 13:19:07 From Glenn Workman : Next time you start DP it should rescan the plug-in folder. 13:35:26 From Zeke : Will these tutorials be available afterward 13:35:31 From Glenn Workman : To ask a question: Open the participants panel and click on Raise Hand. 13:35:58 From Jim Cooper (MOTU) : Hi Zeke, yes we will post them on our youtube channel (motuTV) and on our web site. 13:36:11 From Zeke : Great 13:36:58 From Geert D'haene : Some Instruments plugins do not respond to the midi volume fader and panning knob, such as motu MX4, reason, and others. Does that have anything to do with the settings? I have the same thing in DP10 and DP9. I've always worked around it with the audio volume fader and panning. greetings from Belgium 13:38:07 From Jim Cooper (MOTU) : Hi Geert! Glad you could join us. 13:38:07 From Pierre : Do you need external HD for audio and, if yes, how do you select it? 13:38:40 From Glenn Workman : Geert: Are you talking about incoming MIDI? You can have any MOTU Plug-in learn MIDI assignments. 13:38:53 From Glenn Workman : Pierre: No, you can use the internal drive of your computer. 13:39:18 From Pierre : Tanks 13:39:41 From Glenn Workman : Pierre: By default audio is recorded to the same folder where you create the project. 13:42:14 From Pierre : Thanks again… 13:42:20 From Geert D'haene : Glenn: No, the midi has already been recorded and I want to use the midi fader in the mixer window 13:43:32 From Glenn Workman : Geert: That could be something that for tomorrow’s DP webinar. I’m doing the start of the session on using Custom Consoles. You can create knobs and sliders that can control just about anything and/or record to a track at the same time.
